Ahead of the Nerazzurri’s second leg fixture against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Chamions League quarterfinals at the stadio San Siro, Inter boss Simone Inzaghi provided his insight under the microphones of Sky Sport, via FcInternews
Despite a volatile season, the former Lazio coach’s men seem to have snapped the spell of inconsistency and restored confidence across all fronts, as they are on the cusp of a potential treble for the first time since 2010 as they are ahead of Napoli by three points at the summit of the league, set to face Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-finals, and have the edge over the Bundesliga giants with a 2-1 league on aggregate.
With plenty at stake, the Italian tactician first spoke about the emotional aspect of the fixture:
“We all know the importance of the match. We shouldn’t consider the result but the excellent performance of the first leg, to be repeated in front of our fans. We’ll need a great match.
In addiiton, Inzaghi touched upon coach Vincent Kompany’s side’s mentality heading into this vital fixture and what might be different in the second leg in comparison to the trip to Munich:
“It will be a match like the one in Munich, with moments where we’ll have to suffer and others where we’ll have the ball against a great opponent who will put you in difficulty”.
