Igor Tudor bemoans lack of attacking threat in Juventusโ€™ loss to Parma

Serie A giants Juventus failed to beat Parma earlier today as the home side got all three points in a vital win for them.

It was a first-half goal from Matteo Pellegrino that proved to be the difference for Parma, who pulled clear of the relegation zone and now are at 15th in the table.

Juve are at fifth and while they are only one point behind Bologna, Roma are only two points behind them and Fiorentina are only three behind.

It was Igor Tudorโ€™s first loss as Juve boss and after the game, he was asked about the defeat. He spoke about a lack of attacking threat in the game.

He said, via TMW: โ€œToday we lacked a bit of everything, in the second half we pushed hard but we werenโ€™t very dangerous. We conceded a goal on a cross from 40 metres that you canโ€™t catch. Weโ€™re disappointed, but weโ€™re moving forward: there are still five games and many points up for grabs.โ€

When asked about whether the postponement of the game impacted the playersโ€™ rhythm, Tudor said: โ€œWe had this problem, but itโ€™s not an excuse: we have to adapt and move forward. Parma are going strong at the moment, they play simple football and they found this goal in a melee. In the second half we deserved to score, but something was missing up front. Itโ€™s a defeat, we have to accept it but we move forward.โ€

Juventus take on Monza in their next Serie A game and it is a game they just have to win, considering that they take on Bologna after that. They will lock horns with fellow top four contenders Lazio right after that.

The next few weeks will be key for them and for Tudorโ€™s future.
