Roma finalising terms for Claudio Ranieri return

Serie A giants Roma are now finalising the terms for Claudio Ranieri’s return to the club, as he nears a third stint at the Roman giants.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report today that the move could complete in the next few hours. Ranieri left for London with his agent yesterday and held a meeting with the Friedkins.

After the attempts for Vincenzo Montella (too many hassles with the Turkish Federation) and the doubts about the foreign candidacies of Potter or ten Hag, they turned to Ranieri who has made no secret of wanting to return to coaching after his farewell to Cagliari in June.

So the former Leicester coach, accompanied by his agent Pietro Chiodi, immediately flew to London where he landed yesterday around 10 pm. And in these hours he is negotiating the agreement with the Friedkins – six months as an interim then (probably) a future as a permanent manager.

Ranieri’s return to Rome is scheduled for 6:20 pm in Fiumicino with a signed contract, and money will certainly not be the issue to resolve. Starting tomorrow, in fact, Ranieri is already called to the first training session of his new Roma side.
