Rafael Leao’s Milan situation attracting Barcelona’s attention

The lukewarm situation of Rafael Leao at Serie A side Milan is attracting interest from Barcelona.

According to a report by Andrea Ramazzotti of La Gazzetta dello Sport, star man Rafael Leao is experiencing an unusual situation at Milan at the moment as he has been benched three times in the first nine matchdays of the Serie A. Manager Paulo Fonseca and the coaching department feels that the Portuguese international is having a few off-form days and he should be back into the fray soon.

While Leao has not commented anything on the situation, clubs like Barcelona have reignited their interest in the player after pursuing him last summer. The Rossoneri are aware of the condition as Leao earns €7 million net per season and is contracted to the club with a €175 million release clause.

Barcelona are in a precarious financial state right now and it is practically impossible for them to materialise the 25-year-old’s transfer this winter or next summer.
