Napoli set to proceed in move for Torino’s Alessandro Buongiorno

It seems as if former Serie A champions Napoli will beat current champions Inter in the move for Torino defender Alessandro Buongiorno.

Initially, it seemed as if Napoli were going to seal their move for the Italian and they had an agreement with Torino about a fee too, Inter entered the race quite late yesterday and sought information for the defender. Agent Beppe Riso and Buongiorno were set to have a meeting, to understand the player’s wishes.

Sky Italia have confirmed that Buongiorno has communicated his decision to carry on with the negotiations involving Napoli and new contact has already taken place between Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna and Riso, during which Buongiorno’s agent informed Napoli of the player’s decision.

Parties will now work towards finding an agreement over the defender’s contract, with Inter now beaten. Napoli’s talks earlier yesterday had seen the club attempt to add a release clause worth 70 million in his contact and it would be applicable from the third year of the five-year deal.
