Frank Lampard emerges as candidate for Roma job

Serie A side Roma are likely looking for a new manager after the club’s 3-2 loss to Hellas Verona in the Serie A last night.

Ivan Juric’s future is uncertain and La Gazzetta dello Sport look at how things are. They mention that Juric is hanging on by a thread at Roma and Paulo Sousa is the leading candidate to replace him.

The Friedkins were in Paris yesterday, after spending a few days in London, in the City. Knowing them, they could also pop up in Rome today, perhaps to better understand the current situation at home in the Giallorossi. And perhaps, they could even make a definitive decision for the Giallorossi hotseat.

At the beginning of last week they had a meeting in Los Angeles with Charles Gould, the man from Retexo (the company that studies profiles based on data and algorithms), who first suggested Tiago Pinto’s name for sporting director and then recommended Florent Ghisolfi.

Contact has been made for Sousa and Roberto Mancini and Claudio Ranieri are candidates. But interestingly, Frank Lampard is also a candidate. He has a history with another one of Friedkins’ club – Everton. He has been recommended to them from those close to Everton and his name has gained traction in recent days.

A final decision hasn’t been made but the English is certainly a name in the fray.
