Atalanta seal move for Nicolo Zaniolo

Serie A side Atalanta have now sealed a move for Galatasaray’s Nicolo Zaniolo, who spent the last season on loan at Aston Villa.

Zaniolo didn’t quite impress at Villa but an injury kept him out of EURO 2024 for Italy. His future remained up in the air but it was suggested that he is keen on joining an Italian club.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that a move to Atalanta is all set to go through and the deal is now totally done. The player had already made his decision to join La Dea in recent days, despite interest from Fiorentina and they were constantly pressing for his signature.

Zaniolo arrives at Atalanta on an initial loan deal with the obligation to buy permanently. The loan would cost a fee of €3.5 million and the obligation to buy would be triggered if he plays 60 percent of the games in the season and Atalanta would have to pay €16.5 million and €2.5 million in bonuses.

The Italian would undergo his medical on Thursday and then sign the contract.
