Atalanta make low offer for Everton’s Ben Godfrey

Serie A side Atalanta have made an offer to sign Everton defender Ben Godfrey but it seems as if the offer is quite low.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that La Dea see Godfrey as a defensive target and that has also been confirmed by The Athletic in England. Everton were offered a fee of 8 million for the Englishman, who can play at centre-back but also at right-back.

The Athletic have gone on to suggest that Everton feel that the money on offer is fairly low and they value the defender at around €17 million and an unnamed club has already made an approach. Atalanta would have to match that fee to potentially sign the ex-Norwich man.

Everton had initially signed Godfrey from Norwich for a higher fee and has since become a regular for the club. In the 2023/24 season though, he made only 16 appearances and those came at the end of the campaign.
